Last week brought 6 Ichimoku signals in 6 different markets (out of 22). Those markets were:

As usual the weather backcast contains the ichimoku analysis of 22 indices, futures and FOREX pairs. The linked charts contain all the details and neccessary context. Both charts and tables are generated automatically, at the moment the software is still work in progress. As such, I am not sure if it works 100% correctly, so if you see a mistake, would like to see an addition/change or simply give feedback: feel free to mail me at This email address is being protected from spambots. If you would like to play around with the system that is used to generate the signals and charts on this blog, you can do so! The latest version of my software, ichinscratchy v0.2.1, was released in April 2017. It´s free & open source, you can find it under http://spare-time-trading.de/en/trading-system. Development on the upcoming v0.3 version is going on since then, with it come exciting new features as real money management, market regime filters and much more. 9 Signals in 6 different markets- markets almost went berzerk mode- at least compared to the catatonic state of the last weeks (/months?!). The affected markets are:

Markets within the investment universe still are not in a hurry: only 3 different markets triggered signals last week:

Trick or treat... ok enough for a cheesy teaser. My system kept scanning 20 markets and generated three new strong signals today: Dow Jones Transportation Index long, Cotton short and Orange Juice long. The latter two being some kind of confirmation to signals generated last week.

For details of the generated system see output below. The trading system used is currently under heavy development, the signal generation already works and is considered stable (see weekly ichimoku analysis).

If you follow my blog (or my twitter account) the summary of strong signals won't be a surprise. However, at the end of the week comes the Ichimoku summary and the current trend status. As usual the weather backcast contains the ichimoku analysis of 20 indices and futures. The linked charts contain all the details and neccessary context. Last week 11 STRONG signals were triggered, almost balanced between long and short (5 short vs. 6 long). US indices with several short signals, check the charts to see the tendency and if a signal was a fake one (like the copper short on monday) .The table below shows all generated signals.

The Ichimoku system scanning 20 markets is kept busy: it generated three new strong short signals today on the daily timeframe: Cotton and Dow Jones Index.

For details of the generated system see output below. The trading system used is currently under heavy development, the signal generation already works and is considered stable (see weekly ichimoku analysis).

Today was kind of confirmation day. Although each Ichimoku signal stands for its own, there were three long signals today, each one confirming a recently generated signal.

The Ichimoku system generated those new strong signals today (daily timeframe):

  • 2x Hang Seng
  • 1x Orange Juice

The two Hang Seng signals repeat/confirm a strong long signal generated last Thursday. The last OJuice strong long was created on Friday. The latter signal happened with price way above the upper Kumo boundary (and a quite long green candle), which stands for a pretty strong trend.

Last week 13 STRONG signals were triggered, with a strong bias to long (3 short vs 10 long signals). The indices start to diverge (DOW and SMI short, DAX, EUROSTOXX, Hang Seng and Nikkei long). In general, the indices took over with the majority of the generated signals. The table below shows all generated signals.

Update of this article: The US Dollar is getting stronger at the moment, the US Dollar Index (Futures) is at a seven-month high (thx to KumoWizard for pointing that out). This could lead to money flowing into non-US markets, explaining the mentioned divergence (and additionally has the tendency to lead to cheaper commoditiy prices).

This Thursday was a pretty busy one, signal-wise. Out of the investment universe of currently 20 symbols, 7 created a strong signal (2 short vs 5 long).

The Ichimoku system generated those new strong signals today (daily timeframe):

  • Coffee
  • DAX
  • DOW
  • EUROSTOXX
  • Hang Seng
  • Orange Juice
  • Soy

Interestingly the german DAX created a long, while at the same time the DOW JONES created a short signal. Usually the smaller german index is kind of following his bigger brother. Sometimes it doesn't, obviously :)

Trend followers need trends! The Ichimoku system generated two new strong long signals today on the daily timeframe: Cotton and Nikkei Index.

For details of the generated system see output below. The trading system used is currently under heavy development, the signal generation already works and is considered stable (see weekly ichimoku analysis).

The 41st week of this year was a boring one, signal-wise- if it would had ended on Thursday. Half of the signals were generated this Friday. As usual the weather backcast contains the ichimoku analysis of 20 indices and futures. The linked charts contain all the details and neccessary context. Both charts and tables are generated automatically, at the moment the software is still work in progress. Last week 14 STRONG signals were triggered, which a strong bias to long (3 short vs 11 long signals). Again, more than half of the signals were triggered by indices. The table below shows all generated signals.

After a little break, the ichimoku weather backcast of week 40. Last week was skipped due to a business trip (and a catched cold). As usual the weather backcast contains the ichimoku analysis of 20 indices and futures. The linked charts contain all the details and neccessary context. Last week saw 19 STRONG signals generated, which a bias to long (7 short vs 12 long signals). Continuing the trend started a couple of weeks ago, the indices are back from the summer break with strong signals, complemented with signals generated by commodities. The table below shows all generated signals.
